Single- and double-sided printing without problems Do you find that you need two trays with your letterhead – one face up, one face down – just to make sure that both single- and double-sided documents are delivered correctly in the output bin? Or do you have older printer drivers or applications that have hard-coded input tray assignments that do not suit the other ways of using your HP LaserJet printer or MFP?
EuroForm Enhanced Tray Manager 100 (ETM 100) is installed on the printer in order to ensure consistent use of pre-printed media, independently of whether the print job is single- or doublesided. It also offers an easy workaround of tray-assignment problems – for example, after replacing older HP LaserJet printers or printers from other manufactures – without requiring you to reprogram old printer drivers and applications.
How does it work?EuroForm ETM 100 runs on the embedded virtual machine in the latest HP LaserJet printers and MFPs. A simple interface – accessed via a standard web-browser – lets you configure which trays are loaded for single- or double-sided printing. For trays configured for double-sided printing, ETM 100 inserts blank pages as necessary to ensure single-sided print jobs are output correctly.
The web-interface also lets you specify a replacement Tray ID for any inconvenient input tray assignments used by older drivers or applications. EuroForm ETM 100 then intercepts the tray designation in the incoming print stream and makes the replacement. And because this happens in the printer, you do not need to worry about any odd or expensive reprogramming of old code. It is also possible to configure whether the tray reassignment is active for all print jobs or just for PJL jobs (typically print jobs from Microsoft Windows applications).
